Title: Sour Cream Strawberry Shortcakes

2cAll-purpose flour, sifted
2tbSugar
1/2tsSalt
1/4tsBaking soda
2tsBaking powder
1/4cShortening
3/4cDairy sour cream
2tbButter, melted
  Sugar for sprinkling

Combine first five dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and cut in shortening with a pastry blender till mixture has texture of moist crumbs. Then stir in sour cream to make a soft dough. Dust hands with flour. Knead dough ball 7-8 times. Roll out dough to half-inch thickness and cut into 2-inch rounds. Brush each side of round with melted butter and place on baking sheet. Sprinkle tops with sugar. Bake in 450F oven 8-10 minutes or till golden browned. Serve mounded over with fresh strawberries and thick cream.
